40 Over 40: Irene H.

Irene lived in Malaysia for 20 years with her ex-pat husband. Living in Malaysia gave her many opportunities to learn and understand other cultures and be surrounded by people from all walks of life. While there, she dived into learning about different modalities and concepts of energy healing.

When her husband passed away, it quickly turned her world upside down. She had to decide whether to take over her husband’s business from one day to another. She chose not to let his dream fall apart and kept it alive. She credits friends who supported her in getting the company out of debt and encouraging her to continue in this male-dominated engineering industry.

Five years later, Irene realized it was one of the craziest decisions she had ever made, and even at 61 years young, it taught her a lot about herself. She discovered that everything does continue after losing someone you truly love. The heart-breaking experience encouraged her to begin believing in her gifts and trusting whatever higher power exists that she will always be brought back to the point of success–all she needed was a little “kick.”
